UNAM

The Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) was founded in 1551 and stands out as the oldest and most important educational  institution in Latin America. It  is the academic institution that offers the greatest variety of educational options in Mexico. Over 260,000 students are enrolled in high school, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.  UNAM offers more than 300 programs of postgraduate study and conducts about 50% of the research done in Mexico. In addition, it carries out an extensive program of cultural dissemination and academic activities.

UNAM-SAN ANTONIO

The Permanent Extension School in San Antonio,  was established over 60 years ago and symbolizes a tradition of cultural and academic collaboration between Mexico  and  the United States.  Its  goal is to promote a better understanding between both countries. It accomplishes this through the dissemination of Mexican culture, the teaching of the Spanish language and English as a second language. Included among its numerous activities is the organization of academic and cultural events, many of which are co-sponsored by different institutions of higher education or cultural organizations from both countries, representing true international cooperation.

ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING AT UNAM, SAN ANTONIO

The excellent quality of our classes, a friendly atmosphere, and state-of -the-art facilities are some of the reasons UNAM students and alumni prefer this school for learning languages. Immersion programs allow students to use the language they are studying right from the start. Emphasis is placed on developing the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) as well as on the grammatical aspects of the language. The textbooks and supplementary materials that are used in class have been designed or selected by UNAM instructors to teach the target languages in a thorough but uncomplicated way, as well as to transmit the country's culture. To supplement classroom instruction, many extracurricular events are organized, including intercultural exchanges between students from the United States, Mexico and other countries. Small groups, a relaxed and friendly  atmosphere, personalized attention, as well as the professionalism and dedication of professors who truly care about their students' progress  lead to better learning. All this, added to the fact that our installations contain a modern language lab, a computer lab, a videoconferencing center and a well supplied library, guarantee a  high quality of teaching.
