Originaria de San Antonio, Texas, vivió, estudio, y enseñó en Indiana, Nueva York, Alemania y Lisboa, Portugal. Tiene licenciatura en francés y alemán de Indiana University; estudios de posgrado en alemán, portugués, y pedagogía de idiomas de la Universidad de Texas en Austin. Tiene una maestría en lingüística aplicada, inglés como segunda idioma, y pedagogía de idiomas del Colombia University Teachers College en Nueva York.
Enseñó inglés,
francés y alemán en las escuelas públicas de
Texas, e inglés como segundo idioma para adultos en Nueva
York en la Universidad de Lisboa, Faculdad de Letras, y en North East Independent
School District en San Antonio, Texas. Fungió como Presidente
de la Asociación Profesional "Texas Teachers of English to Speakers
of Other Languages-Region II", y recibió premio de "TexTESOL
profesional del año 1998-99". Actualmente,
en su cuarto año con la UNAM-EPESA, enseña ESL, cursos de
preparación para el TOEFL, cursos de inglés avanzado sobre
los medios y el cine norteamericano, y un nuevo curso de portugués.

Is a native of San Antonio, Texas, and has lived, studied, and taught in the Midwestern U.S., New York City, Germany, and Lisbon, Portugal. B.A. in French and German, Indiana University. Post-graduate studies in German, Portuguese, and education, University of Texas, Austin. M.A. in Applied Linguistics and English-as-Second-Language education, Columbia University Teachers College, New York. Has taught English, French and German in Texas public schools, and Adult ESL in New York, the University of Lisbon, and San Antonio’s North East Independent School District. Is a Past- President of Texas Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages and was honored as Texas TESOL Professional of the Year of that organization.
Is currently in her fourth year at UNAM Extension Campus in the USA located in San Antonio, Texas. She teaches ESL, TOEFL preparation, advanced English courses on American Media and Film, and a new course in Portuguese language.
